Two-minute Guide to MetaMask
An Ethereum wallet in your web browser
What is MetaMask? 🤨
MetaMask is an Ethereum wallet that works as a Google Chrome extension on your laptop.
But, what does that mean? 🤔
When you purchase a token using ether (ETH), it is recorded on the blockchain that you own it.
With MetaMask, you can visualize the tokens that you own and the ETH that you have just like you would in your mobile banking app.
What can I do with MetaMask? 😁
- store ether
- send / receive ether
- store ERC20 tokens (R.A.R.E. Art Tokens)
- send ERC20 tokens
- store ERC721 tokens
How do I download MetaMask? 📲
Step 1:
Go to https://metamask.io/
Step 2:
Download the Google Chrome extension
You should see an icon that looks like a fox this in the top right next to your other installed extensions:
It’s that simple!
BONUS STEP 😎
MetaMask is still in beta and can sometimes be fickle.
We suggest using MetaMask in it’s own window.
Click on the top-right button to open a new browser window and experience MetaMask in all its full screen glory!
